Sarah and I like to do lots of different things together. We'll check out a restaurant or go double dating or ride bikes around town. Back in winter date-life and now with married life, I really enjoyed helping her cook awesome food and cleaning up for her (men, never let your wife do the dishes).
However, my clear favorite is to drive to the city together, walk around exploring, then maybe stopping somewhere local to get coffee or a snack. There are so many hidden gems you can find when you travel without a plan. We brainstorm together about the story of shops and shoppers. We'll wonder about the type of city we'll someday move to and what life will be like. Someting about seeing so many different stories is pretty inspiring. There are rarely photos of these trips because we're easily lost in the moment enjoying ourselves.
Even the drive is a highlight to me. Being in a car together is such a private experience: you can talk about anything knowing it won't leave vehicle, all the while picking music or podcasts or "Would you rather..." moments. Even if she falls asleep on part of the ride, it's a good time.
