Hi All! This is Matt.
I'm a mix of 50% introverted, introspective, philosophical and analytically, along with 50% competitive, driven, industrious and passionate. I'm also a late bloomer, and didn't figure myself out until college and beyond.
I met Sarah and was surprised: she was fun, easy to talk to, enthusiastic and always caught my eye. At the time I was looking for my next job, maybe out of town, and had no intentions of getting tied down. I also had really started trusting Jesus on things coming together in life, following up on "coincidences" and having faith in action.
Sarah and I got engaged and married in Spring 2014. We aren't perfect, but we decided to have a Christ centered relationship in dating, engagement and marriage. We're so grateful that we decided to give back any way we could think of. Hence, this little project!
Hi, I’m Sarah! In April of this year I got to marry Matt.
Matt = big surprise. When we first met I had gotten to come to really learn and experience contentment in a relationship with Jesus Christ. At the time I really thought that my story here would be lived in singleness, just God and I. Dating/relationships were not so much on my radar during that time.
What was on my radar then...
My biggest fear in entering into a relationship was that I might end up craving and relying on another person more than I do God.
But what I came to learn in this part of my story were three very big things:
1.) That God brought Matt into my life as a demonstration of his great love for me. There are so many different ways God reminds us of how much he loves his children, and for me this was one of the biggest.
2.) God brought Matt and I together to be a team. To be a strong team together with a purpose of serving Christ.
3.) That God is and always will be my number one. Only he can 100% fulfill my needs and expectation and to not put that expectation on to another person (ie, Matt).
Now is the part of the story where Matt and Sarah has begun.
